CAPS' BETTER HALVES GIFT BASKET AUCTION RAISES MORE THAN $37,000 FOR MSE FOUNDATION
The Caps' Better Halves raised $37,300 for Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation through their annual gift basket auction held at the Capitals game against the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday, Feb. 7.
The Caps' Better Halves created 23 gift baskets, one for each player and one for the coaching staff, filled with their favorite things, autographed items and jerseys. Almost all of the gift baskets sold for $1,000 or more, with the Ovechkin basket selling for the most at $2,750.
Created in 2013, Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation supports the charitable efforts of the Washington Capitals, Mystics and Wizards. MSE Foundation is committed to the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area and focuses on the following five pillars to maximize its impact and engagement with the community: youth basketball and hockey, education and scholarship, pediatric health and fitness, military and veterans' affairs and hunger and homelessness.
