Mystery Mini-Helmets raises more than $18,000 for Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation

January 9, 2017
The Washington Capitals raised $18,200 for Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation through the team’s Mystery Mini-Helmets, which took place at the Caps game against the Ottawa Senators on Jan. 1. The fundraiser featured 455 mini-helmets that were signed by various Capitals players and sold for $40 each. Fans lined up on the concourse to purchase the mini-helmets as soon as they went on sale when the doors opened to Verizon Center.

Ron Boone, Matt Frank, Kevin Fritz, Craig Mahaffy and Joe Schatz were the Mystery Mini-Helmets winners. The five winners selected unsigned mini-helmets and got to meet Capitals left wing Marcus Johansson after the game. Johansson signed their mini-helmets and took photos with the winners.

All proceeds from Mystery Mini-Helmets benefit Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation, the nonprofit arm of the Washington Capitals, Mystics, Valor and Wizards.

The Capitals would like to congratulate our Mystery Mini-Helmets winners and thank all of the fans who helped make it a success.
