Capitals/MSE Foundation Military Night Auction

February 28, 2017
As part of the Capitals Salute to the Military Night, Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) Foundation is hosting an auction featuring autographed camouflage practice jerseys, pucks with camouflage Caps logos and camouflage hats. The auction will open at noon on Monday, Feb. 27, on Handbid and will conclude at the end of the second intermission during the Caps game against the New Jersey Devils on Thursday, March 2. All proceeds will benefit Our Military Kids and United Heroes League (formerly Defending The Blue Line).

The autographed hockey jerseys, pucks and hats will be on display at the MSE Foundation table located on the main concourse at section 104 of Verizon Center during the Capitals game on Thursday. Handbid is a mobile-based bidding app that fans should download on their iPhone and Android devices if they would like to participate in the auction. Fans should ensure their phones or tablets are well charged for the game and those without smart phones may bid on iPads supplied by the Capitals at the MSE Foundation table while the auction is open. To bid on the items in the auction, CLICK HERE.

Our Military Kids is a nonprofit organization that supports children, ages five through 12th grade, of deployed National Guard and Reserve service members and children of wounded warriors from all service branches. Grants pay for participation in activities that help children cope with stress and anxiety while their parents are recovering or absent.

United Heroes League actively works to ensure that children of military members are afforded every opportunity to participate in sports. They have provided more than $3 million worth of free sports equipment, game tickets, cash grants and summer camps to military families across the United States and Canada. United Heroes League wants to ensure that all five million military kids are able to develop critical life skills through sports. This intense focus on youth development and serving the families of military service members motivates United Heroes League to keep its programs focused. This focus has also inspired more than 90 professional athletes and more than 30 sports franchises to lend their names and support to United Heroes League.
