Capitals Spring Puck Surprise raises $18,000 for Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation

April 10, 2017
The Washington Capitals raised $18,000 for Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation through the team’s Spring Puck Surprise, which took place at the Caps game against the New York Rangers on April 5. The fundraiser featured 450 pucks that were packaged with Hershey’s Kisses and signed by various Capitals players and sold for $40 each. Fans lined up on the concourse to purchase the pucks as soon as they went on sale when the doors opened to Verizon Center.

Jeff Bainbridge, Jason Halsall, Jessica March and Pearl Young were the Spring Puck Surprise winners. The four winners selected unsigned pucks and got to meet Capitals defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk after the Caps game. Shattenkirk signed their pucks and took photos with the winners.

All proceeds from the Spring Puck Surprise benefit Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation, the nonprofit arm of the Washington Capitals, Mystics, Valor and Wizards and Baltimore Brigade.

The Capitals would like to congratulate our Spring Puck Surprise winners and thank all of the fans who helped make it a success.
