Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation hosted families affiliated with Flashes of Hope during a Washington Mystics practice on Aug. 23. Flashes of Hope families had a chance to watch practice and enjoyed Happy Meals for lunch courtesy of McDonald’s. Following practice Mystics players Elena Della Donne, Emma Meesseman and Asia Taylor joined the families in a basketball-themed Flashes of Hope photo shoot. Prior to the photo shoot, the families had chance to meet members of the team and play on the Mystics court.
“It’s huge to give back to the community, and I feel like we can be really inspiring women,” said Mystics guard Elena Della Donne. “It’s great just to interact and get to know [the families].”
