WASHINGTON, D.C. – Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation and the Washington Mystics raised nearly $13,000 for Capital Breast Care Center during the Mystics Breast Health Awareness auction.
The Mystics celebrated Breast Health Awareness Week Aug. 3-12 to raise awareness and inspire others in the fight against breast cancer. As part of the events, the Mystics hosted its annual Breast Health Awareness game on Thursday, Aug. 9, against the Seattle Storm. MSE Foundation then auctioned off the Mystics game-worn Breast Health Awareness uniforms, along with Mystics "Pink Out" and WNBA All-Star memorabilia. A WNBA All-Star Basketball Signed by Team Delle Donne went for the highest bid at $2,530, followed by Elena Della Donne’s game-worn uniform at $1,310.
Throughout Breast Health Awareness Week, the Mystics organization and its players highlighted the importance of cancer screenings and honored those who have been touched by breast cancer.
Capital Breast Care Center is a nonprofit organization that provides breast cancer screening services and health and wellness education to all women in the Washington, D.C., area, regardless of their ability to pay.
