Shatori Walker-Kimbrough Participates in MSE Foundation’s KaBOOM! Playground Design Day

July 12, 2019
Washington Mystics guard Shatori Walker-Kimbrough participated in a playground designing session with elementary school children from Eagle Academy Public Charter School in southeast Washington, D.C., on July 9. Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation, the charitable arm of the Washington Mystics, is funding an MSE-themed playground in partnership with KaBOOM! to be built at the brand new Eagle Academy Public Charter School Fairlawn Campus in September. The play space will feature logos from the Washington Capitals, Mystics and Wizards, along with the Capital City Go-Go.

Walker-Kimbrough played a game of Simon Says with the students and participated in a Q&A session. Next, the children drew their dream playgrounds and talked about what pieces of equipment they want to see on their new playground. Elements from the drawings will be incorporated into the final design for the new community playground. The playground will be the seventh built with involvement by Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation and its teams.
