December 21, 2019
Washington Capitals Better Halves Paige Dowd, Barbora Gudas, Jenner Jensen, Nicola Minarikova (Kempny), Lindsay Minges (Hathaway); Wizards Better Halves Kamiah Adams (Beal), Anna Bertans, Elizabeth Christian, Kandace Jemison (McRae), Kristen McLean, Lauren Miles, Alli Speidel (Bryant); Capitals Hockey Ambassador Haley Skarupa; ALL CAPS Crew; Wizards Dancers; Slapshot; and G-Wiz shopped for more than 20 families adopted through Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation’s Family-to-Family program at the Tysons Corner Walmart in Vienna, Va., on Nov. 13.

Family-to-Family is an initiative created by the Washington Wizards more than 20 years ago that that provides holiday cheer to underserved and deserving families in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area.

This is the ninth year that MSE sports teams have collaborated on the Family-to-Family program, which allows them to “adopt” families in need. The families selected for participation in the Family-to-Family program were nominated by Martha’s Table, Hendley Elementary School, Bright Beginnings and The Salvation Army National Capital Area Command.

Martha’s Table is Monumental Sports & Entertainment’s Raise The Game community partner for the month of December. As part of MSE’s Social Impact Initiative, one nonprofit each month is highlighted throughout all assets of the MSE organization – Raising the Game for these Game-Changing organizations.

MSE Foundation is committed to making the region a better place for all by supporting game-changing solutions for our community. We fundraise, provide grants to nonprofits and rally MSE’s teams and fans to support and amplify the impact of community change agents. Together, we’re raising the game in the DMV.
